Philip Snow was born in 1947 in Altrincham, Cheshire. On leaving school at Lymn Grammar he attended the Northwich School of Art between 1965-67 followed by the Birkenhead College of Art 1976-77. Philip won a BA in Illustration in Manchester Polytechnic in 19
83.
He has been a Freelance Illustrator since 1983 with illustrations in over 50 books. The following are but a few:- "River Birds" by Lovegrove and Snow (1985), "Collins Field Notebook of British Birds" by Lovegrove and Snow (1986), "Birds of Mull" by Madders and Snow (1987, 3rd edition 1993), "Bird Watching on Anglesey and Lleyn" by V McFarland (1990), "Birds and Forestry" by Avery and Leslie (1990), "Birds of Mid Argyll" by Madders et al (1992), "Hebridean Birds and Landscape".

Phillip has been a regular contributor of pictures to "BBC Wildlife", "British Birds", also overseas magazines.

He has widely exhibited in London galleries including the Tryon Gallery, South Bank, The Barbican, Design Centre, SWLA Mall Galleries, and elsewhere including the Royal Academy, British Art Shows in Gulf States, RSPB Birds in Art in Wales Exhibition, Anglesey Heritage Gallery, Royal Cambrian Academy, NCC "Impressions of Nature" touring exhibition.

His work can be found in collections including the Welsh National Library, Gulf Royal families, RSPB.

As much of Philip's work as possible is donated to conservation and other charities.
