While on your way up Plynlimon why not visit the sources of both the Severn and Wye rivers?

Llanidloes, Rhayader, Newtown, Welshpool and Machynlleth are the local towns and are great places for exploring the Welsh Heartlands.

Aberystwyth is only 1 hour's drive from the cottage - giving access to the West-Wales coastline of Cardigan Bay, from Aberaeron in the south to Tywyn in the north.

Further afield, to the north will be found the Berwyns - a remote mountain range which includes Lake Vymwy and to the south you can easily reach the famous Brecon Beacons.
