Red Kite Interperative Centre
Our Red Kite Interpretative Centre offers information on red kites, as well as other birds and animals to be found in the locality.
The full set of eight water colours by the well known artist 'Philip Snow' tell the history of the red kite from the iron age through to present day.
Tony Cross of the Welsh Kite Trust very kindly procured a genuine 'Kites Nest' and installed this display.
The nest had been deemed to be unsafe for kites to successfully raise young in again.
The bowl of the nest can now be seen from the gallery.

f red kites in flight, and nesting kites are running all day.
Live video of badgers has been relayed back to the centre on summer evenings, via infra red equipped CCTV, with the recorded footage now being shown during the day.
Three Apple Mac touch screen computers give insights into the varied sounds and sights of the many local raptors and also provide educational games and quizzes with an environmental theme.
The Welsh Assembly have granted permission to stream live video from the rehabilitation aviaries to this centre so visitors can now help to observe the behavior of our patients.
This is an important step as the simply knowing that a kite is eating for itself or not is just one of the many observations that are important to make and this facility will lessen the amount to human contact and that can only be good for the bird.
We are always looking for interesting ideas to add to the educational side of the centre and are more than happy to hear from those with knowledge in this area.
Our small 'kite' cabin offers a variety of merchandise with red kite orientated goods ranging from postcards to telescopes and now also serves hot and cold beverages during the afternoon. Binoculars are a popular item and can be tried out here in 'field' conditions.
